Episode 1 : New Blood - This episode is set 220 million years ago, when a variety of creatures battle to survive the dry season in the river valley: bulky Placerias graze the prairies and primitive burrowing mammals raise their young, as the agile and aggressive Coelophysis learn to hunt in flocks and drive out the giant predator, Postosuchus.
