Former actress Franziska Her-Gross (VERONICA FERRES) knows very well that a successful husband alone does not make a happy marriage. Ad a TV director, her husband Will Gross (THOMAS HEINZE) keeps flirting with actresses while Franziska stays home alone and upset - until she meets Enno (JOACHIM KROL), a divorce lawyer with a big reputation, who turns her regulated housewife's existence upside down by getting her to divorce Will! Enno also asks Franziska to dig deep into her memories and write the story of her marriage and her life. Then he secretly publishes her memoirs as a novel under the title 'Happily Unmarried'. Surprisingly, it becomes a best-seller and makes Franziska a famous author. Ironically enough, Will chooses the book to adapt for his first feature without knowing that the author is actually his ex0wife! When they finally meet, Franziska and Will go at each other like cats and dogs...
