Miki, a Toto Press reporter, finds a drifting fishing boat after a storm. The crew members are killed, except for wounded Okumura. Okumura tells Maki that he saw a giant monster on an island during the storm. Later a bioscienist Hayashida convinced him that what he saw is Godzilla, the huge reptile that raided Tokyo 30 years ago. A voicanic eruption woke him up from undergound. Godzilla lands on Tokyo & wreaks havoc, buildings crumble & streets burst into flames. Hayashida thinds that Godzilla responds to the supersonic waves emitted from migrant birds. He plans to ture Godzilla to a volcano & bury it in the crater.
